The Idaho Department of Health and Welfare, Division of Information Technology is looking for someone to become a part of our progressive team as aIT Infrastructure Engineer II(Configuration Management Specialist) in the Operations Bureau. This position designs, develops, and applies technical expertise that support the organization's technical infrastructure and technology offerings. This includes systems, networks, servers, and other related technologies. It is responsible for designing, developing, testing, installing and / or deploying technologies, and work typically includes contingency planning, configuration management, direct maintenance and problem resolution. This is a challenging career opportunity for a highly trained, seasoned, and motivated professional.

EXAMPLE OF DUTIES :
Develop standard configurations for enterprise endpoints and audit compliance of those endpoints.
Ensure security patches and other updates are applied to statewide endpoints.
Troubleshoot and re-mediate configuration conflicts at an enterprise level.
Administer and configure various endpoint security management systems.
Develop strategies and processes for managing department endpoint assets.
Provide Tier 3 level customer support.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS :
You must possess all the minimum qualifications below to pass the exam for this position. Please make sure your resume or work history supports your meeting the minimum qualifications for this position. Failure to do this may disqualify you from being considered for this position.
Good knowledge of current information technology trends and capabilities. Typically gained by an associate degree or equivalent college level / vocational-tech coursework directly related to current information technology OR at least two years of work experience in information technology. Education and experience must be within the last five years.
Experience installing, maintaining, troubleshooting network, server or storage systems. Typically gained by at least three years of full-time work experience where installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting network, server or storage systems was part of your primary job responsibilities.
Experience resolving network or server problems.Typically gained by at least two years of full-time work experience (within the last five years) where resolving network or server problems were part of their primary responsibilities.
Experience working with end users to develop and implement information technology solutions for user computing needs in a business environment.Typically gained by at least two years of full-time work experience interviewing and consulting with clients / users to develop and implement solutions to meet computing requirements in a business environment as a primary responsibility of the job.
Below is preferred experience. It is not required for the position but applicants with this experience may receive consideration over other applicants.
Experience working in a Service Desk environment, and knowledge of service management processes. Typically met by at least two years of related experience.
Good knowledge of endpoint configuration management practices. Typically gained by at least two years of related experience.
Experience coordinating technical solutions for a large group of people. Typically gained by at least two years of related experience.
Experience supporting one or more network operating systems. Typically gained by at least two years of related experience.
Experience installing, administering, and configuring two or more multi-protocol routers,wireless access points and layer two switches in multiple locations. Typically gained by at least two years of related experience.
