The Idaho Department of Health and Welfare, IT Services Division has an opportunity for an IT Information Systems & Infrastructure Engineer III to join the Server Team located at our downtown Boise office. This position provides an opportunity to serve the citizens of Idaho. We seek candidates who have excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills, a positive attitude with the skills to move forward in the ever-changing world of technology. Example Of Duties

  • Providing hands-on Windows Server administration on a large production environment.
  • Participates in design, and contributes to technical insights and ideas while anticipating implementation obstacles and developing plans to address them.
  • Analysis of cross-technology and cross-platform issues.
  • Providing input into the technology plan for the organization and ensures that plans are integrated effectively with other aspects of the technical infrastructure.
  • Provides Technical Leadership within the Team and provides consultation services to project teams on areas of expertise.
  • Administration of Microsoft Active Directory and Active Directory Policies.
  • Planning, installing, maintaining and troubleshooting ESXi, vSphere and vCenter technology stacks.
  • Working with end users to develop and implement information technology solutions for user computing needs in a business environment.
  • Management and utilization of Monitoring and Observability Platforms.
  • Participates in the design of cloud computing architectures with the understanding of various concepts (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS)

Minimum Qualifications

  • Considerable knowledge of current information technology trends and capabilities.Typically gained by a bachelor's degree directly related to information technologyORat least four years of full-time work experience in information technology.
  • Experience planning, installing, maintaining, troubleshooting network, server, or storage systems.Typically gained by at least four years of full-time work experience where these duties were part of your primary job responsibilities.
  • Experience resolving network or server problems.Typically gained by at least four years of full-time work experience (within the last five years) where this was part of your primary job responsibilities.
  • Experience working with end users to develop and implement information technology solutions for user computing needs in a business environment.Typically gained by at least four years of full-time work experience interviewing and consulting with clients/users to develop and implement solutions to meet computing requirements in a business environment.
  • Experience as a technical lead implementing or supporting network, server or storage systems.Typically gained by at least four years of full-time job experience where this was part of your primary job responsibilities.

Below is preferred experience. It is not required for the position but applicants with this experience may receive consideration over other applicants.

  • Experience in Microsoft Windows Server Administration in an enterprise level environment. Typically gained by at least five years of experience within the last ten years.
  • Experience in the VMWare technology stack: ESXi, vSphere, vCenter, Horizon. Typically gained byat least five years of experience within the last ten years, eight years, preferred.
  • Experience managing Cisco UCS server infrastructure. Typically gained byat least three years of experience within the last six years.
  • Experience in Backup and Recovery infrastructure. Typically gained byat least three years of experience within the last six years. Experience with the Veeam product line preferred.
  • Experience in a Microsoft 365 environment. Typically gained byat least three years of experience within the last six years.
