About the Agency : The Idaho State Board of Education (Board) is established in the Idaho Constitution for the “general supervision of the state educational institutions and public school system.” State law charges the Board with the general supervision, governance and control of public schools and postsecondary institutions, including community colleges. The Board is comprised of eight members : seven appointed by the Governor, as well as the statewide elected superintendent of public instruction. The Office of the State Board of Education (OSBE) is charged with providing professional staff support to the Board and implementing the Board’s policies, programs, and initiatives.

Summary :

To plan, develop, implement and coordinate an agency program; perform related work. The program is the Idaho Statewide Confidential School Safety Tipline known as See Tell Now.

Job Responsibilities :

Positions in this class may perform some or all of the following duties and responsibilities and may perform other related work. No attempt is made to describe every duty performed by all positions in this class.

Provide complex consultative and technical services, to include program applicability and legal requirements to agency program staff, other governmental agencies, community organizations and the general public;

participate in program planning, development, training, and implementation;

work with program staff in determining trends and resolving technical problems;

review, evaluate, develop and implement effective service delivery methods, activities, outputs to identify problems and recommend improvements;

study and analyze operations and problems and prepare detailed and comprehensive reports of findings and recommendations;

participate in or conduct surveys, inspections, or reviews to determine compliance with certification requirements, laws, regulations, policies, and procedures;

Support users of the tipline program to use the program effectively within their own context.

work with and speak to community and professional groups to coordinate, improve, and stimulate interest in the program and to secure financial support for programs;

develop and provide program related training to others;

prepare news releases, brochures, posters, newsletters and other materials; develop, and recommend or implement program policies and procedures; develop policy and procedure manual(s);

prepare or assist in the preparation of administrative reports, studies, and specialized research projects;

evaluate research findings relative to specific projects being developed;

plan and develop educational programs and materials;

develop budget and monitor expenditures;

train and / or supervise the work of others.

Minimum Qualifications :

Some knowledge of management practices; program or project planning and implementation.

Experience developing and evaluating policies and procedures.

Preferred Qualifications :

Knowledge of K-12 culture, climate and operations.

Effective public speaking to various levels of stakeholders, i.e., community professionals, school administrators, K-12 students, college and university students

Willingness to travel (some overnight) within the state to support statewide deployment.
