Position Overview:
The Idaho Falls Family YMCA is seeking an enthusiastic, customer-focused individual to join our team as a Part-Time Front Desk Staff / Welcome Center Associate. This position plays a crucial role in creating a positive first impression for all members and visitors. As a Front Desk Staff member, you will provide exceptional customer service, assist with membership inquiries, check-in processes, and help ensure a welcoming environment for all guests. Key Responsibilities:
- Greet members, guests, and visitors with a friendly, professional demeanor as they enter the YMCA.
- Check-in members and visitors accurately using YMCA software or systems.
- Answer phone calls, provide information on YMCA programs and services, and direct inquiries to the appropriate department or staff.
- Provide tours of the facility to prospective members.
- Assist in maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the front desk area.
- Process payments for memberships, programs, and services.
- Monitor and maintain a safe environment by ensuring members adhere to YMCA policies and procedures.
- Support the registration process for programs, classes, and events.
- Assist with administrative tasks such as filing, record-keeping, and data entry.
- Handle member concerns or complaints and escalate issues to the appropriate supervisor when needed.
- Maintain knowledge of YMCA programs, services, schedules, and promotions to effectively inform and engage members.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; some college coursework preferred.
- Previous customer service experience is a plus.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to interact professionally and positively with diverse groups of people.
- Detail-oriented and able to handle administrative tasks efficiently.
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Basic knowledge of office equipment (computers, phones, printers, etc.) and the ability to learn YMCA-specific software systems.
- Must be able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Physical Requirements:
- Ability to sit or stand for extended periods.
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
