Job Description:
The Terminal Supervisor is responsible for ensuring efficient day-to-day operations of the Baker Truck Service transportation terminal.
Key Responsibilities:
- Communicate effectively and support customers' logistic and order quota needs
- Provide superior customer service to cross-functional teams and maintain effective and strategic alignments
- Create and enter truck patterns timely to Ops Manager when a new delivery destination is required
- Work with IFG Residuals team to arrange shipment schedule of our residual products
- Off-hour availability in support of operation
- Oversee and supervise driver operations to ensure efficiency, safety, and compliance with company policies and regulations
- Dispatch trucks and drivers utilizing Samsara
- Track trucks and trailers to ensure efficient utilization of equipment and drivers
- Track loads and weights working with residual and payroll departments as needed
- Schedule loading of trailers at IFG mill facilities and all other customer load out sites
- Coordinate maintenance with warehouse supervisor and drivers
- Schedule driver road tests
- Work with HR and Ops Manager on recruitment, payroll, and performance management
- Arrange towing services for breakdowns
- Coordinate with all drivers and carriers to ensure all loads are acknowledged to maximize efficiency and on-time service
- Work independently with minimal oversight
- Promote and enforce all Baker/IFG policies and procedures
- Other duties as needed.
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum 3 years of experience in the transportation industry
- Valid Class A CDL
- Valid DOT Medical Card
- Proven proficiency in Excel and Microsoft Office applications
- Experience with collecting, analyzing, and reporting transportation data
- Experience with shipping standards, laws, and requirements, including international shipping
- Knowledge of DOT rules and regulations
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Ability to pass a DOT drug test, post-offer pre-employment physical, and background check
- Experience with an ELD
