Job Summary:
This Forestry Intern role offers the opportunity to gain practical experience in forestry operations and contribute to the success of our company. The successful candidate will work under the guidance of experienced professionals and participate in various aspects of forestry management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Quality control on logging jobs with a written set of items to complete and document on each sale visit.
- Quality inspection on Stewardship service items with written items to inspect and document.
- Introduction to timber sale logging systems analysis and forest road construction.
- Introduction to sawmilling processes and timber sale appraisal process.
- Introduction to global harvest planning process and open market log buying.
- Assist the Resource team in FS/IDL contract administration and log buying.
Requirements:
- Currently pursuing or have recently graduated with an undergraduate or graduate degree in Forestry or related field.
- Must be a rising sophomore or higher, minimum GPA of 3.0.
- Ability to identify tree species.
- Have own housing and transportation to mill.
