JOB DESCRIPTION: Advanced Practice Provider (Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant)
REPORTS TO: APP Lead
DEFINITION OF POSITION:
We are looking for an experienced physician assistant or nurse practitioner to assist in taking night calls. This position offers the unique advantage of allowing the APP to work entirely outside of a hospital or clinic setting, with no direct patient contact necessary. Additionally, you'll have the flexibility to take calls from anywhere, ensuring a perfect work-life balance.
Experience in one of the following subspecialties preferred: acute care, cardiology, family health, women’s health, or urgent care. Experience in gastroenterology is preferred. As a nurse practitioner or physician assistant, you will collaborate with other healthcare professionals. A team spirit, positive attitude, and strong work ethic are required. Patience, critical thinking, and good communication skills are essential.
Responsibilities:
• Answering calls from after-hours service and hospital services
• Provide guidance for common GI conditions
• Communicating with the on-call physician as needed
• Documenting calls
• Provide appropriate handoffs to the day providers
Skills:
• Proven experience as an NP or PA in a clinic, hospital, ER or other setting
• Expertise in primary care, acute care, and chronic care practices
• Knowledge of health and patient care regulations
• Excellent communication skills
• Strong ethics
• Team spirit with a positive attitude
• Critical Thinking
• Willingness to continue Advancing GI knowledge
• Valid, unencumbered licensure in the state of Idaho
• Master’s degree, PhD is a plus
• Experience in EPIC eMR a plus
