Idaho National Laboratory is hiring a Bus Driver to work in our Transportation Services department. Our team works a 4x10 schedule located out of our Central Facilities 45 minutes west of Idaho Falls with every Friday off.
You will transport INL employees to and from the Site on established routes connecting six surrounding communities. You will report directly to the manager of the Transportation Services department.

You will transport INL employees to and from the Site on established routes connecting six surrounding communities. You will report directly to the manager of the Transportation Services department.
Responsibilities Include
- Over the road driving up to 300 miles round trip per day.
- Transport personnel from the following communities: Pocatello, Blackfoot, Idaho Falls, Rexburg, Rigby, and Mackay/Arco to INL.
- Start as early as 4:00 a.m. and end as late as 7:30 p.m.
- Perform tasks such as fueling, shuttle driving, and sweeping/cleaning buses or cars. May also include additional assigned work such as tours. Nights, weekends, and holiday work may also be required.
- Drive both city and over-the-road routes.
- Conduct both pre- and post-trip inspections.
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Able to meet/pass D.O.T. medical qualifications.
- Must have passed the passenger endorsement written test before undergoing BEA driving test. Must have a passenger endorsement prior to the start date.
- Must have a current Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class A or B license with no L restriction.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs.
- Must have 3 years of driving of a bus or heavy truck (>26,000 GVW) and able to pass a practical driving test.
- Familiar with must adhere to all Federal, State, and local rules of the road that are applicable to their position.
- Bus Operations is a 24-hour operation, 7 days a week that may require working any shift and/or Holiday. Time off is not guaranteed.
- Wage: $27.37/hr (Rate can vary based upon individual work location, clearances, and qualifications. Rates are accurate for current posting and subject to change These are bargaining unit positions.)
