What are the responsibilities and job description for the Electrical Planner position at Idaho National Laboratory?

Idaho National Laboratory is hiring an Electrical Planner to work in our Advanced Test Reactor (ATR) Planning and Material Support department. Our team works a 4x10 schedule located out of our ATR facility with every Friday off.

Responsibilities

  • Write work instructions for assigned Nuclear Facility equipment that provides safe, workable, and complete instructions for skilled maintenance craftsmen utilizing the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS).
  • Ensure written instructions comply with established INL controlling documents for the work control process, with Quality, Training, Environmental, Industrial Hygiene, Radiological, Safety and Health and other applicable regulatory agencies requirements. Ensure that work instructions are clear and concisely written to be performed by the craftsmen.
  • Serve as the single point of contact for resolving issues for each assigned WO from initiation to completion.
  • Take responsibility for the work order (WO) development, documentation and content based upon work control procedures.
  • Ensure appropriate worker involvement, feedback, and continuous improvement are part of the work control process. Plan, develop, resolve comments, obtain approvals, resolve issues for scheduling and make WO changes to WO’s using company documents and accepted industry practices.
  • Select and apply engineering techniques to solve complex “scope of work” issues and lead/participate in planning teams during the work order planning process.
  • Ensure the proper composition of planning teams.
  • Evaluate the WO hazard control sets and detailed work instructions for completeness and accuracy with respect to practical field application by performing jobsite walk downs.
  • Procure and stage the materials with assistance from the material coordinators. Plan, develop, resolve comments, obtain approvals, issue for scheduling, and make WO changes to WOs using company documents and accepted industry practices.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements

  • Level 2: Bachelor’s degree and 2 years of relevant experience, an advanced degree, or 8 years of experience in lieu of degree.
  • Level 3: Bachelor’s degree and 5 years of relevant experience, an advanced degree and 2 years of relevant experience, or 11 years of experience in lieu of degree.
  • Relevant experience to include work experience, relevant certification, and relevant associate degree.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain assigned qualifications in accordance with the INL and ATR Programs qualification processes.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of and expertise in the application of NFPA 70, “National Electrical Code,” and NFPA 70E, “Electrical Safety in The Workplace.”
  • This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy "L" clearance, which requires US Citizenship.

Preferred Requirements

  • Understanding of principles, concepts, and practices of the work control process.
  • Relevant experience performing maintenance at nuclear facilities.

Job Information

  • The pay range for this position is: Level 2 ($65,064 - $133,416) / Level 3 ($77,628 - $159,228). At Idaho National Laboratory compensation decisions are determined using factors such as education, relevant experience, and other credentials.
  • TDP-This is a Testing Designated Position: You will be required to submit to a pre-employment drug screen and periodic drug testing throughout the term of your employment.
  • Multi-Level: This is a multi-level posting and you will be placed at the appropriate level dependent on depth and breadth of proven experience and skills.
