What are the responsibilities and job description for the Quality Programs Department Manager position at Idaho National Laboratory?
Idaho National Laboratory is hiring a Quality Programs Department Manager to work in our Environment, Safety, Health and Quality (ESH&Q) department. Our team works onsite with a 9x80 schedule located out of our Idaho Falls facility with every other Friday off.
Manage, implement, coordinate with cross-functional communication. Develop and establish operational policies within area managed. May participate in strategy development for corporate team. Requires detailed functional expertise and broad company knowledge. You will report to the Director of ESH&Q.
Responsibilities Include :
- Manage the activities of a department or a discipline through subordinate supervisors and professionals. Provide guidance to team members within the latitude of established company policies.
- Responsible for the effective operation of activities of major significance to our organization. Decisions impact others in the immediate team and influences methods and techniques.
- Perform business planning, organizational priorities, and workforce development. Ensure that budgets, schedules, and performance standards are realistically set and attained.
- May manage supervisors, exempt, and non-exempt staff.
- Receive objective based assignments and determine resources to meet schedules and goals.
- Recommend improvements to policies and establish procedures that affect department or multiple disciplines. Help develop overall department goals that support division priorities.
- Collaborate with supervisors, partners, and / or functional peer group professionals, involving lab wide affecting processes and decisions.
- Partner with main contacts outside own area of expertise and other external partners.
- Communicate and present results and recommendations across discipline.
- Other responsibilities as assigned.
