Overview
We are seeking a professional and compassionate Medical Front Desk Receptionist to join our team. The ideal candidate will be the first point of contact for our patients, providing exceptional customer service while managing front desk operations. This role requires excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and an understanding of the operations of a medical office and medical terminology to support our patients and clinical staff effectively.
Responsibilities
- Greet patients with professionalism and empathy upon arrival.
- Answer incoming phone calls, provide information, and direct inquiries appropriately.
- Schedule, confirm, and manage patient appointments efficiently.
- Check patients in and out, ensuring all necessary forms and payments are completed.
- Address patient concerns, inquiries, and requests in a friendly and professional manner.
- Maintain accurate medical records in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Utilize practice management and EHR software for patient management and record keeping.
- Ensure that all patient information is handled confidentially and securely.
- Assist in verifying patient insurance information and processing necessary documentation.
- Communicate effectively with patients regarding treatment instructions, medical terminology, and clinic policies.
- Collect co-pays, process payments, and provide receipts.
- Fax, scan, and upload medical records as required.
- Maintain a clean and organized front desk and waiting area.
- Maintain a positive and friendly attitude with patients and staff.
- Willingness to be a team player and help staff with shared duties.
Qualifications
- Previous experience as a Medical Receptionist or in a similar role within a medical office is required.
- Proficiency in managing medical records and understanding of HIPAA compliance is essential.
- Familiarity with OfficeAlly EHR and practice mate is a plus.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to handle patient inquiries professionally.
- Excellent phone etiquette and communication skills are required.
- Knowledge of medical terminology and pharmacology is preferred for effective communication within the clinic.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Detail-oriented and able to follow instructions.
Education & Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
Work Schedule:
- Our office is open Monday - Thursday 8am - 5pm, with Fridays being offered as an optional catch up day.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: From $18.00 per hour
Expected hours: 36 – 40 per week
