Job Summary: Owyhee Family Medicine, an independent growing family practice office located in Star, is in search of a Medical Receptionist to join our team.
We are seeking a highly organized and customer service-oriented individual to join our team as a Medical Receptionist. In this role, you will be responsible for providing excellent patient service, managing medical records, scheduling appointments, and ensuring the smooth operation of the front desk.

You will support the providers, staff and patients through a variety of tasks related to patient care management, organization and communication.
Responsibilities:
- Demonstrate positive interpersonal relations in dealing with physicians, patients, patient families, visitors and co-workers in a professional and confident manner
- Greet patients and visitors, in person or on the telephone, answering or referring those inquiries
- Schedule patient appointments and maintain the appointment calendar
- Obtaining patient information and accurate input into the EHR
- Obtain accurate insurance information and run verification
- Collect and process payments at the time of service
- Assist with medical record management, including filing, scanning, and organizing documents
- Coordinate referrals to other healthcare providers as needed
- Ensure compliance and maintain patient confidentiality as per the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA).
Experience:
- Previous experience working as a Medical Receptionist or in a similar role is preferred
- Familiarity with medical scheduling systems such as Epic, Athena, or eClinicalWorks is a plus
- Knowledge of medical terminology and procedures is beneficial
- Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize work
- Social perceptiveness and service oriented
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational skills
- Ability to work independently
Minimum qualifications include:
- High school diploma: some college preferred
- At least two years’ experience in a medical clinic setting
- Proficiency in MS Office
- EHR experience preferred
- Reliable Transportation
