As a Buyer, you will be the primary category point of contact for supplier interactions, performance management, and negotiations for the site. In this role, you will work with partners to build comprehensive view of supplier performance for continued sourcing success. You will participate and / or lead in the development and implementation of category strategies and projects related but not limited to cost reduction initiatives, supply base optimization, and pricing / contract negotiation. Responsibilities : Lead Site Supplier Performance and Relationships Own procurement process for designated areas and accounts Negotiate with suppliers to meet business needs Support capital budgeting and cash flow management, and the execution of Global Procurement strategies Handle cost saving initiatives and metric Implement cost savings and process improvement programs Have deep knowledge to serve as a consultant for procurement process and supplier issues. Support site audits Successful candidates for this position will have : At least 5 years of engineering or procurement experience. Fundamental knowledge of construction techniques, building materials, standards and equipment Ability to read, analyze and interpret legal documents, financial reports and technical documents Ability to apply arithmetic concepts such as fractions, ratios and proportions to real scenarios Basic understanding of construction purchasing and procedures Proficiency in common office applications Good understanding of standard operating procedures (SOPs) and occupational, safety and environmental regulations and law Time management and problem-solving skills Verbal and written communication skills Proven understanding of construction project controls and construction contracting. ?Effective project management with outstanding customer focus.
