Looking for a lifetime career Apply today Job Description Equipment Storage and Installation (ESI) has an exciting opportunity for an entry level engineer at the Naval Nuclear Laboratory The equipment installation engineer will be responsible for supporting installation of equipment used in movement or processing of nuclear fuel which includes shielded containers, worker platforms, bandsaws, storage systems, equipment elevators, and waste stands. The engineer will become an expert on the systems and equipment and be able to write installation procedures, functional testing criteria, troubleshoot issues, assist installation technicians, and act as the liaison between equipment installers, construction and engineering. Additional areas or opportunity for the selected candidate may include cost estimating, reviewing contracts, planning, writing requirements, drafting or reviewing lift plans, and working closely with project management to coordinate installation around other construction work. You will be part of the team working on construction and startup of one of the largest construction projects in the Naval nuclear program. Required Combination of Knowledge and Skill Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university in engineering or science related field; or Master's degree from an accredited college or university in engineering or science related field. Preferred Skills Demonstrated ability to work on individual assignments as well as being a contributing member of a small team. Experience working in a team environment with interface groups such as operations, construction contractors, compliance personnel, and procurement. Experience working with a highly motivated team such as military, or production preferred. Remote working experience preferred. Demonstrated self-motivation skills, experience in writing technical reports or engineering evaluations. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Eagerness to be trained to learn new skills as needed.
