As the 'face of Airgas,' the Relief Delivery Driver is responsible for safely and efficiently delivering compressed gas cylinders to local and regional business customers from an Airgas branch or plant location using a company-provided straight or box truck. The Relief Delivery Driver loads, unloads, delivers, and returns compressed gas cylinders while frequently interacting with Airgas customers. The Relief Delivery Driver is also responsible for safely and efficiently transporting cylinder gases and hard goods to area branches and plant locations using a company-provided semi tractor-trailer. The Relief Delivery Driver loads, unloads, delivers, and returns cylinder gasses and hard goods while frequently interacting with Airgas internal customers. Position Title : RELIEF - DELIVERY DRIVERLocation : Idaho Falls, IDMonday - Friday, local deliveries. Home most nightsMay require some occasional overnight travel.Straight Truck & Semi Tractor Trailer - Class A CDL with Hazmat Endorsement required. In particular, you will : Drives truck over established route to deliver and sell products while performing the following duties : Drives truck to deliver gasses and hard goods to customer's places of business. Performs any non-route delivery(s) necessary to provide customers with product. Writes customer orders and instructions. Records sales or deliveries information on daily sales or delivery records. Listens to and resolves service complaints. Issues sales promotion materials to customers. Collects or picks up empty containers or rejected or unsold merchandise. Loads truck. Issues or obtains customer signature on receipt for pickup or delivery. Perform pre and post trip vehicle inspections, documenting deficiencies utilizing Airgas forms and ensure all safety items are in good working order. Complies with all company policies and meets DOT requirements. Assists inside the retail branch, servicing customers at dock, front counter and over the phone. Attend safety meetings as scheduled before, during or after daily shifts. Assists with other driver's scheduled duties as needed.Secondary Responsibilities : Drive truck with a capacity of more than 3 tons, to transport materials to and from specified destinations, by performing the following duties : Deliver compressed gas cylinders, liquid cylinders and hard-goods to other branch locations. Communicate in person with internal customers, providing information ordering and delivery times, etc. Maintains load manifests and all other vehicle documents ensuring they are properly completed and balanced with truck counts and shipping documents before and after deliveries. Accurately maintain records such as Department of Transportation Driver's Log and vehicle logs according to state and federal regulations. Picks up empty cylinders from branch locations and returns them to the plant for refilling following all federal, state, and local regulations. Operates a forklift, pallet jack or other warehouse equipment in order to load and unload trucks following all company policies and procedures. Perform pre and post trip vehicle inspections, document deficiencies and all equipment is in safe and good working order. Maintains telephone or radio contact with supervisor to receive delivery instructions. Reads maps and follows written and verbal geographic directions. May perform emergency roadside repairs such as changing tires, installing light bulbs, etc. Comply with all company policies and meets DOT requirements. Assists with other driver's scheduled duties as needed. Assists inside the retail branch, servicing customers at dock, front counter and over the phone.
