Job Description
The Application Administrator is responsible for analyzing and administering applications that reside within the Enterprise Applications group. This position provides daily monitoring, maintenance, troubleshooting, and administration for a wide variety of third-party software applications.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as primary support for one or more applications that may include configuration and integrations with other applications that extends across the university and/or functional areas.
- Provide high-level administration tasks to various systems and applications including, but not limited to, data refreshes, application upgrades, configuration changes, security management, code migrations, change control, release management, and new functionality exploration.
- Monitor application performance for usage and efficiency. Proactively take corrective action and recommend upgrades or capacity increases to existing software when required.
- Coordinate with vendors, information technology staff, and functional departments during application and system upgrades.
- Consult with customers to help increase business efficiency using existing services and technology.
- Performs other related duties as required.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution (in lieu of a bachelor's degree, a minimum of six years combined education, training, and experience may be considered)
- Two years full-time paid professional work experience in information technology systems administration support and analysis
- Excellent teamwork, interpersonal, and relationship management skills
- Ability to learn quickly, work independently, and adapt to new technologies and processes
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience working in Higher Education
- Prior experience supporting complex application environments, including Windows/UNIX/Linux-based operating systems
- Experience working with relational database technology, including SQL or PL/SQL programming
- Experience with Single Sign On (SSO) including CAS, Shibboleth, LDAP
- Experience in application containerization
- Familiarity with Ellucian Banner or similar ERP systems, document management, or portal software applications
- Automation tools experience including shell scripts and job schedulers
Additional Information

Salary will be between $60,000 - $65,000 per year, commensurate with education and experience.
