Job Description
The Assistant Director of Recruitment, Visitor Services, and Ambassador Coordination will lead and manage the ISU Ambassador Program, oversee the daily operations of the Bengal Welcome Center, and enhance visitor experiences to support the growth and retention of Idaho State University’s enrollment.
This role combines strategic leadership with hands-on oversight to ensure a welcoming and engaging environment for prospective students and their families.
Key Responsibilities
- Creating and managing student schedules and tracking student scholarship requirements
- Executing bi-annual training programs and designing/coordinating additional professional development opportunities for students
- Hosting weekly meetings to provide updates and coordinate Ambassador committees
- Conduct one-on-one meetings and semesterly evaluations
- Coordinate and execute the annual hiring and interview process for new Ambassadors
- Work closely with the Associate Director of Admissions, Director of Admissions, and the Office of the President to coordinate student Ambassador involvement across campus and within all recruitment initiatives
- Design and coordinate Ambassador Communications to prospective students
- Continually identify areas to enhance and grow the ISU Ambassador Program
Oversee the daily operations of the Bengal Welcome Center (10%):
- Ensure adequate staffing and coverage through student schedules
- Manage and execute training for front-desk coverage and ensure excellent customer service
- Continually identify areas to enhance a high-quality campus visitor experience and an innovative tour program that sets our college apart from others
Assist in event planning and execution for recruitment and orientation events (10%):
- All Admissions & Recruitment staff are required to participate in several annual recruitment events including Experience the Roar, Idaho Scholars, Academic Signing Days, Bengal Visit Day, and New Student Orientation
- Coordinate Ambassador participation and work closely with the Recruitment Event Coordinator to create Ambassador assignments and execute training for recruitment events
Be a productive and positive member of the Admissions & Recruitment team (10%):
- Maintain excellent communication and organizational skills
- Operate Ellucian CRM Recruit, Banner, Jolt, and Google Suite systems
- Assist with the Campus Tour Experience by providing one-hour individual student appointments to provide guidance through the admissions and next-step processes when needed.
- Working in the evenings and on weekends is required
- Willingness to travel is required
- Other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelors Degree
- At least two (2) years Experience in Higher Education
- One (1) year experience leading, advising, and/or mentoring students
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Flexibility and willingness to work outside of regular business hours
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s Degree
- One (1) or more years of experience as an Idaho State University Ambassador
- Experience with Ellucian CRM Recruit
Additional Information

Salary will be between $58,000 - $63,000 per year, commensurate with education and experience.
