What You Will Do:
Buyer is responsible for procurement of goods, materials and services to ensure the company operational needs and goals are met, by taking into account price, quality, delivery and by ensuring continuity of supply to production for delivering on time to the company’s end customers.
· Perform a variety of transactional work in ERP based procurement application for a wide array of materials.
· Analyze requirements and communicate those to the suppliers.
· Develop and retain strong supplier relationships and manage partnerships with cross functional teams and internal stakeholders.
· Work closely with the accounting team to ensure invoice discrepancies are resolved in timely fashion.
· Support company-wide procurement processes in supplier selection, contract and product/service change negotiations, and business performance reviews.
· Leverage reminders and tasks to follow up on open issues and manage multiple priorities.
Key Responsibilities
· Acts as authorized agent of the company, making financial commitments and managing key supplier relationships to ensure supply chain performance
· Manages supplier accounts, requiring advanced knowledge of commodity, supply base, and program Responsible for key suppliers, significant spend, and challenging supply chain problem resolute
· Possesses solid working knowledge of subject matter
· Make daily purchases and input into ERP system based on demand, while analyzing the quality, specifications, and delivery requirements
· Ensure just in time supply aligns with loaded demand to maintain inventory targets
· Interface with Material Planning team to ensure any changes in schedule or requirements are flowed down to suppliers
· Review purchase orders regularly and follow up on unconfirmed orders, past due items, etc.
· Generate effective communication, good relationships, and a positive image with suppliers, promoting
Requirements
· Bachelor’s degree in Business, Purchasing, Supply Chain, Engineering or Program Management
· Minimum 3 years of supply chain/purchasing/sourcing functions experience
· MRP System experience
· MRP systems experience
· MS Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint) skills are mandatory, advanced skills in Excel or database are beneficial
· Good knowledge of purchasing, negotiation, commercial understanding and cost breakdown
· Must be fluent in English, strong written and verbal business communications abilities
· Self-starter with ability to drive improvement, meet timelines and objectives
· Identify problems, work with teams to solve through leading actions collaboratively
· Ability to analyze and communicate requirements
· Ability to apply Supply Chain past experience to current environment and modify as needed
· Ability to negotiate, influence, and win respect
· Ability to make timely decisions and take action
· Ability to provide information regarding tasks, plans, schedule and strategy to stakeholders
· Customer service oriented
· Ability to read and analyze engineering prints
Accountability
This position is under ITAR (International Traffic in Arms Regulations) and must meet export control compliance requirements. To meet export control compliance requirements, a “U.S. Person” as defined by Title 22 of Code of Federal Regulations (C.F.R.) §120.15 is required. “U.S. Person” includes U.S. Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.
