What are the responsibilities and job description for the Paint Technician position at Identity Group?
Position Summary:
Identity Group – Brunswick Campus is a fast paced, ever changing environment delivering exciting sign and visual décor projects to major retailers and grocery clients nationwide. A Paint Technician is a key part of this service.
The responsibility of a Paint Technician is to coordinate and process parts sign manufacturing which require coating. Using two-part urethane paints, water borne paints and stains, the media being coated includes plastics, metals, wood and foam. The technician works with the Lead Paint Technician to organize the daily painting schedule.
Essential Functions:
- Perform prep and paint functions
- Coordinate daily paint line start-up and shut-down tasks
- Coordinate with Supervisor at start of shift to schedule and production requirements
- Coordinate and perform preventive maintenance for paint booths/guns to ensure proper functioning
- Adjust controls and monitor function of paint booths and guns to ensure quality of paint
- Troubleshoot paint quality defects, provide quality checks, diagnose, communicate/implement corrective actions
- Assist with paint and prep inventories including paint, masking, plugs and gun parts
Prepare paint by blending and mixing
- Able to check colors with various color management books.
- Store, handle and dispose of paint, stain, varnish, and other chemicals according to established procedures
- Ensure rooms, booths and controls are cleaned regularly
- Complete paperwork and production data as appropriate
- Report quality issues, supply needs, equipment breakdowns, accidents/injuries to Supervisor
- Maintains confidentiality of company information
- Conduct Paint Certification Training
- Comply with all Identity Group employee policies and procedures
Requirements:
- 1-2 years Painting experience in Manufacturing
Detail Oriented and Organized
Communicate well both via email and in person.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $19.00 - $22.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
