Primary Function :
Works with Viking Pump vendors, contractors and employees to accurately process invoices, PO’s and A / P checks for Viking Pump Cedar Falls
Primary Duties and Responsibilities :
Daily / Weekly :
Receive invoices and packing slips and verify information, adhering to all company policies and procedures.
Enter accounts payable invoices into JDEdwards system.
Determine correct account numbers on invoices and purchase orders.
Work with Purchasing and Receiving to resolve issues, variances and discrepancies.
Understand and apply appropriate sales tax rules.
Work directly with vendors to resolve payment issues.
Lead the processing of AP payments, including electronic bank data and physical checks.
Serve as the primary contact in reconciling disputed accounts.
Maintain an organized filing system of all accounts payable vendor documents, while adhering to all record retention policies and procedures.
Monthly / Yearly :
Prepare monthly wire transfer payments.
Prepare various month-end reports and reconciliations.
Prepare 1099 Tax Forms.
Present and explain all A / P documents as required by auditors.
Obtain updated W-9 forms from necessary vendors.
Assist with annual physical inventory procedures.
Education and / or Experience Requirements :
Associate’s degree in accounting or other related field and 1 – 2 years related experience, or equivalent.
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field at least one year of experience.
Other Special Requirements :
Working knowledge of sales tax laws
Working knowledge of chart of accounts
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
Able to conduct research and use critical thinking to resolve problems with accounts payable system and invoices
Maintain confidentiality with company financial information and records
Continuous improvement mindset
Able to handle high-volume workload in a fast-paced environment
Excellent organizational skills
Strong attention to detail
Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment
Computer Skills :
Proficient with Microsoft Office products including, but not limited to, Word, Excel, and Outlook.
JDEdwards and Onestream working knowledge, based on training provided.
Work Environment Requirements :
Ability to move within office and manufacturing complex.
Perform general office functions.
Ability to communicate by speech and hearing via phone and in person.
Visual acuity needed for close detail work and computer use.
