What are the responsibilities and job description for the Key Account Manager position at IDEX Corporation?
SCOPE OF ROLE :
Under the direction of the Vice President of Sales, the Key Account Manager (KAM)-US will secure and build a pipeline of new business opportunities for the Life Science Optics business (Semrock optical filters and Melles Griot Light Sources, Objective Tube lenses and Optical subsystems business) within established and new original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) throughout US. The KAM-US will be responsible for the initial technical assessment of opportunities and for developing the winning commercial approach. The KAM-US will also work closely with the Commercial, Finance and Product management teams to contribute to the longer-term customer and market strategies.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES :
Manage and grow major accounts in the specified region or target applications to meet and exceed assigned account Annual Operating Plan (AOP) revenue
Grow our market share and revenue within the Health and Science and adjacent markets by targeting and meeting with prospective clients to sell the benefits of partnering with IH&S-LSO
Leverage technical selling experience to understand the customer need and offer the right product or service solution
Maintain relationships with existing customers to secure existing business and capture new opportunities.
Interact with colleagues from Product Management, Customer Service, Operations and Quality within IH&S-LSO to help qualify, win, and support new programs
Travel to trade shows and customer sites as needed to support product trainings and marketing efforts
Effectively use Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software to develop forecasts, track sales opportunities and capture win / loss data
Contribute to growth strategies and marketing initiatives, sharing industry and account trends and preparing sales reports on territories and key accounts
Continuously build application knowledge to remain up to date with market trends and anticipate needs
Coordinate and manage client site visits and audits
Up to 50% travel per month within US and up to two trips per year to US office(s)
Primarily a remote-based role but consideration may be made for office space with IDEX business sites
QUALIFICATIONS :
Engineering or Business School (Bachelor’s degree)
Experience in OEM sales techniques (call for tenders, contracts, public bodies) with 2-year experience in a comparable market segment
Demonstrated ability to establish and build professional relationships to grow and expand sales and customer base
Demonstrated ability to work within a team environment, supporting fellow business operations, marketing, and project management professionals
Ability to navigate internal teams to ensure the best support of client’s needs
Experience with CRM software for forecasting and account management a plus.
Excellent Microsoft Office skills.

Total Rewards
The compensation range for this position is $120,000 -160,000, depending on experience. This position may be eligible for performance-based bonus plan.
