We currently have an opening for a skilled and detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our finance team. As a Staff Accountant, you will be responsible for managing all financial aspects of our multifamily properties, ensuring accurate and timely reporting, assisting with budget development, preparing journal entries, and performing variance analysis.
Responsibilities:
· Maintain detailed financial records for a portfolio of properties, including income, expenses, assets, and liabilities
· Prepare journal entries and perform bank, credit card, and balance sheet reconciliations
· Assist in developing annual budgets and monitor performance against budgeted targets
· Collaborate with on-site personnel and other team members to provide support and resolve any financial issues or discrepancies
· Ensure compliance with tax laws, regulations, and reporting requirements
· Conduct financial analysis on property performance, cashflow, and capital expenditures
· Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and areas of improvement
· Maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with accounting standards and policies
· Ability to develop innovative solutions and process improvements based upon technical accounting knowledge, analytical skills, and understanding of financial systems
· Assists with annual audits
· Supports ad-hoc projects
Qualifications and Skills
· B.S. in Accounting/Finance required
· 2 years of accounting experience with property management or real estate knowledge preferred
· Excellent computer knowledge with proficiency in Microsoft Office and commercial accounting software
· Self-motivated, highly organized, and detailed oriented
· Ability to work in a dynamic setting and adapt to change
· A deep commitment to honest, ethical conduct in all dealings and an ability to adhere to the company’s core values
· Excellent oral and written communication skills
