Job Description for the Database Administrator:
This role involves creating and managing a production database by entering codes and monitoring its performance, including memory use and record distribution. It also includes directing teams to modify the database management system and ensuring that changes do not negatively impact other systems. The role requires performance tuning to enhance processing efficiency and the creation of database models, both logical and physical. Additionally, it involves managing data integrity, redundancy, and security, as well as assisting with disaster recovery and ensuring accessibility compliance. The position demands experience in computer systems analysis, programming, and knowledge of current database technologies and standards.
Required Skills for the Database Administrator:
- 8 years’ experience as a Database Administrator in an Oracle environment
- 4 years’ experience supporting Microsoft O365 applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio)
- 4 years’ experience working with a public sector organization
