Summary: Responsible for managing the health and wellness for a pasture-based goat dairy farm by performing the following duties.
Duties and Responsibilities: include the following but are not limited to as other duties may be assigned.
- Assisting goat health and wellness schedules
- Trim hooves
- Responsible for fecal examinations
- Perform milk measuring on a monthly basis
- Administer all vaccinations, herbs, tinctures, oils, and all supplements
- Responsible for assisting with maintaining inventory health and wellness supplies
- Assists with grain and hay rations
- Assist in managing herd for mastitis prevention, parasite control, body condition, and udder health
- Assist with Al program
- Helps manage the breeding program
- Monitor somatic cell count
- Helps manage barns for optimum goat health
- Assist with managing all goat health logs
- Assists with grazing pen size
- Helps manage kidding program
- Assists with culling program
- Responsible for milking
- Responsible for pasture fence setup
- Responsible for equipment operation
- Responsible for pasture fence setup
Experience: Vet tech experience a plus, but not required.
Specialized Training: 1 year training in small ruminate health care.
Certificates and Licenses: Drivers’ license.
Expected Full-Time Hours: 40-50 hrs/wk and some weekends and holidays.
