Responsible for identifying, planning, and preparing permitting packages for project(s) to be completed ahead of schedule, within budget and in compliance with Mastec Renewables safety and procedural policies.

Location and Travel: If hired into the Permitting Specialist 1: This position would be required to be based in one of our office locations: Fargo, ND; Phx, AZ; Clinton, IN; Indianapolis, IN. If hired into the Permitting Specialist II or Sr Permitting Specialist: This is a remote position, which can be based anywhere in the U.S. This position supports our business across the United States. This position does require 25% travel throughout the United States.

MasTec Renewables group is part of the MasTec Clean Energy & Infrastructure business segment. Responsibilities

  • Identify and review construction permits required for projects
  • Coordinate the submittals of permit documents
  • Review permitting documents and prepare a check list to ensure all work items are accounted for
  • Attend Estimating, Preconstruction and Project Team meetings
  • Review basic construction designs for completeness and compliance with permit application documents
  • Prepare and review documents, submittals, check request and application packages
  • Coordinate and establish delivery dates for permits/applications in accordance with the schedule
  • Interface with project teams to maintain an open line of communication and reporting, monitor job progress and schedules
  • Update permit tracking reports
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Education and Work Experience Requirements:

Permitting Specialist 1

  • Associates or Bachelor’s degree in a business-related field preferred
  • Minimum of one year of knowledge related to permitting, estimating, commercial real estate and/or construction required
  • Salary:
  • Location: This position would be required to be based in one of our office locations: Fargo, ND; Phx, AZ; Clinton, IN; Indianapolis, IN.

Permitting Specialist 2

  • Associates or Bachelor’s degree in a business-related field preferred
  • Three years of relevant experience
  • Experience with permitting, estimating, engineering packages, commercial real estate and/or construction required
  • Salary:
  • Location: This position is open to remote with 25% travel throughout the US.

Sr Permitting Specialist

  • Associates or Bachelor’s degree in a business-related field
  • Five years of relevant experience
  • Experience with permitting, estimating, engineering packages, commercial real estate and/or construction required
  • Salary:
  • Location: This position is open to remote with 25% travel throughout the US.

Knowledge, Skills And Abilities Required

  • Take reasonable care of your own and others’ health and safety and of those who may be affected by the day-to-day delivery of this role by taking personal responsibility for working toward Zero Injury principles
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills (Word, Outlook, Excel)
  • Familiarity working within SharePoint and/or Procore
  • Strong organizational skills, initiative, and meticulous attention to details
  • Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills
  • Read, analyze and interpret design plans, technical procedures, contracts or governmental regulations
  • Ability to follow instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including ability to work well within a team
  • Ability to handle confidential information and communications in a secure and professional manner
  • Ability to deal with multiple assignments, to prioritize, and to progress assignments without constant oversight
