Daily Duties:
- Operate and maintain the press brake machine to bend, shape, and form metal parts.
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and technical instructions to determine bending requirements.
- Set up and calibrate the press brake machine, ensuring proper settings for each project.
- Monitor the bending process to ensure the accuracy and quality of the parts produced.
- Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on the press brake and related equipment.
- Inspect finished parts for defects and ensure they meet quality standards.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, following all safety protocols and procedures.
- Collaborate with team members to optimize production processes and improve efficiency.
- Work overtime as required.
- Adhere to all safety policies and procedures.
Specific Qualifications
Position Requirements:
- Previous experience operating a press brake or similar machinery.
- Understanding of metal fabrication processes and techniques.
- Ability to read and interpret technical documents and blueprints.
- Basic computer skills for operating machinery software and recording production data.
- Proficiency in using a tape measure, caliper, and protractor.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Good communication skills.
- Attention to detail and advanced organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and within a cross-functional team environment.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to solve practical problems, make logical decisions, and communicate ideas.
Working Conditions:
Physical Requirements:
- Sit, walk, kneel, bend, crawl, and crouch for extended periods.
- Ability to quickly and repeatedly adjust machine controls with precision.
- Strong depth perception and reaction time for safe operation.
- Coordinate the use of hands, arms, and legs for handling objects and materials.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to see details both at close range and distance (naturally or with correction).
- Regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds; frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
- Mental and visual attention necessary to complete work tasks effectively.
Environmental Conditions:
- Wear protective or safety equipment, including safety boots/shoes, glasses, gloves, hearing protection, and hard hats.
- Exposure to high levels of noise, grease, dust, and various substances typical of a construction or manufacturing site.
