What are the responsibilities and job description for the NCCCO Crane Operator position at IES Infrastructure?

Operate 45-ton crane with room for advancement to larger cranes. Greiner’s mobile cranes are rated from 45-ton up to 600-ton, with many combinations of boom length up to 478.3’.
The Crane Operator is responsible for safely driving the crane to the job site and operating the mobile crane to lift, move, position, and reposition loads. They must be able to control the rigging, lifting, moving and positions of loads with the crane. The Operator will be required to unload crane accessories, equipment and materials from trailers or support vehicles including set up and dismantling of crane per ANSI and OSHA standards. The Operator receives direction from others via verbal or hand signals to determine required load movement. The Operator must be NCCCO certified and also have a CDL Class B license and will be required to perform pre- and post-trip inspections along with daily and monthly equipment inspections including washing and performing regular maintenance on the assigned crane. Operators also follow appropriate safety procedures and maintain logs of vehicle repair status and working hours. Crane operators must be able to read and interpret load charts to determine the safe operating capacity. The Operator is subject to possible exposure to extreme year round outdoor environmental conditions, and may also be subject to working weekends and holidays.

Specific Qualifications
Duties may include:
- Commitment to a safe work environment, quality product, and teamwork.
- NCCO certification for Large Hydraulic Crane (required)
- NCCO certification for Small Hydraulic (preferred)
- Class B CDL (Class A preferred)
- Minimum 2 years direct crane operating experience
- Knowledge of rigging various pieces of equipment ranging in size, shape and weight
- Must be able to pass a drug test, background check
Must possess a current NCCCO or equivalent crane operator certification.
Must hold a license, if required, from the state/district where crane will be operated - Work is performed outside in all weather conditions and in various locations.
