Operations Manager
Plant Power and Control Systems
Status: Exempt
Reports To: General Manager
Location: Plant Power & Control Systems
The Operations Manager is responsible for driving standardization, safety, and efficiency across the different companies within the Infrastructure Division. This role will also stand in for GM roles and assist in different areas that are in need of assistance. Responsibilities include developing, maintaining, and improving operations systems, coaching, leading, and influencing the operations culture to consistently deliver the highest quality product to our customers. This position will monitor production operations and improve processes by auditing and analyzing process outputs to increase efficiency in the company.
Responsibilities
- Leads with continuous improvement mindset to improve performance and efficiency of operations within manufacturing environments.
- Lead capacity planning
- Assists in development of longer-term strategies.
- Drives a safety focused culture.
- Ensures products meet or exceed quality requirements.
- Leverages business insights to proactively manage the operations through labor, capacity, and material constraints. Can coach others through the various tools needed to keep these resources balanced with the needs of the business.
- Ensures strong alignment across the operations and functional support groups.
- Ability to field escalations during non-scheduled working hours.
- Conduct audits and reviews for quality and safety.
Requirements
- Ability to work out of facility in Alabaster.
- Bachelor’s degree is required, bachelor’s degree in a technical field preferred.
- 10 years of operations related experience in heavy manufacturing environments. To include welding, metal fabrication, and painting.
- Mastery of leadership abilities
- Ability to work independently.
- Previous management experience
- Knowledge of analytical processes
- Mastery of verbal and written communication
- Strong computer skills, proficient in Microsoft Office, Excel Spreadsheets
Reliable, organized, detail oriented and able to function at high level in fast paced manufacturing environment
