Quality Inspector

$2,500 Sign-on Bonus!

Classification: Non-Exempt

Duties & Responsibilities

• Read instructions and prints to comprehend the quality expectations for the product and supplies
• Approve or reject raw materials with respect to quality standards and record supplies performance
• Select output sample and check them using the appropriate methods measuring dimensions, testing functionally, and comparing to specifications
• Measure product dimensions, examine functionality, and compare the final to specifications
• Maintain records of inspection outcomes by completing detailed reports and performance records
• Inspect procedure of the entire production cycle to ensure they are efficient and comply with Quality & safety standards
• Monitor the use of gages and testing equipment to ensure it is safe and well maintained. Contact Supervisor if found to not meet requirements.
• Prepare, scan & electronically file QC reports.
• Recommend improvements to the production / Quality processes.
• When requested, teach the production team about quality control concepts to improve product quality.
• Resolve quality related issues in a timely manner.
• Initiate and process Non-Conforming Material Reports. Identify (tag) discrepant / suspect material until dispositioned.
  
  

Required Skills & Abilities

• Proven experience as a quality inspector or relevant role
• Familiarity with quality testing machines and systems
• Thorough knowledge of quality control standards and testing methodologies
• Working knowledge of Word, Excel. Ability to locate, open, modify & save electronic files.
  
  

Education & Experience

• High School Diploma or Equivalent
• Two Years’ Experience in comparable field
  
  

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift 30 - 50 lbs.
• Prolonged periods of standing and walking on uneven concrete surfaces.
