The Sr. Manager, HR (Performance Management) is a key strategic partner, leading the design and execution of performance systems that drive engagement, growth, and results across 70 locations in 18 states. In this highly visible role, you will report to the Sr. Director, HR and play a pivotal part in connecting employees to a shared vision of excellence, culture, and high performance. This role will influence Culture, Engagement, Succession Planning, Career Pathing, Recognition & Rewards, and Talent Review, shaping the future of HR practices that uplift employees and align with business success.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the evolution of performance management (PM) by developing a scalable, future-focused framework that enables continuous feedback, meaningful performance conversations, and career growth opportunities.
- Coach and develop an HR Generalist, fostering a high-performing, engaged team that delivers impact across the organization.
- Champion a culture of continuous improvement by innovating and implementing PM practices, tracking, and reporting structures that align with HR and business priorities.
- Deliver strategic guidance in organizational design, change management, leadership development, training, and policy alignment, ensuring a seamless employee experience.
- Drive talent planning and succession efforts by collaborating with leaders to deliver inclusive development opportunities, leadership readiness, and development opportunities that strengthen the pipeline for future growth.
- Enhance career pathing initiatives by aligning paths to our leveling structure, building transparent pathways (in consultation with leadership), visualizing paths, and continuously building more robust paths of development.
- Shape recognition and rewards strategies that create meaningful appreciation, reinforcing performance and align recognition to the impact provided.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Organizational Development, Recruiting, Shared Services, and Employee Relations to ensure HR services are integrated and effective.
- Lead compensation benchmarking efforts, guiding role classifications, pay equity evaluations, and financial modeling for promotions, salary changes, and merit increases that connect pay with performance.
- Provide expert-level HR consulting to business leaders and employees, ensuring that HR strategies align with workforce needs, compliance requirements, and best practices.
Specific Qualifications
Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Psychology, Organizational Leadership, or a related field.
- Certification in Change Management, any types of leadership, talent or developmental assessment methods are beneficial, not required
- SHRM-CP/PHR certifications are beneficial, not required
Experience & Skills:
- 12 years of HR experience, with at least 4 years in a leadership role.
- Prior experience using (and implementing) UKG’s Performance & Coaching module is a highly desirable skill
- Expertise in modern performance and talent management methods, with a forward-thinking approach to employee development.
- Experience in medium and large, matrixed organizations (2,000 employees).
- Strong knowledge of Neuroscience Leadership, Gallup Clifton Strengths, 5-Dynamics/Simpli5, Birkman, or other leadership development methodologies.
- Data-driven decision maker, adept at leveraging HRIS systems (UKG preferred) for performance tracking and workforce analytics.
- Deep understanding of multi-state employment laws and compliance requirements, ensuring HR policies are effective and compliant.
Expectations & Work Environment:
- Hybrid role with a mix of onsite and remote work (2-4 days/week), based on business needs.
- Up to 20% domestic travel to company sites for leadership engagement and HR program implementation.
- Operates with high integrity, confidentiality, and a trust-building approach, creating strong relationships across the business.
