What are the responsibilities and job description for the Underground Cable Installer position at IES Residential, Inc.?
IES RESIDENTIAL, INC. is currently seeking several UNDERGROUND CABLE INSTALLERS to play a pivotal role in the continued support of our Telecommunications / Low Voltage department.
As an UNDERGROUND CABLE INSTALLER, your duties will include, but not limited to:-
• Pull / Push / Install / Dig / Saw-Cut / Duct-Rod underground coaxial and/or fiber-optic cable (via conduit or other means), to provide residential homes with the ability to connect and/or use Telecommunications or Low Voltage products such as Video, Telephone, High-speed Internet, Home Automation, Home Security and Fiber Optic (RFoG ONT GPON) services at the customer locations.
• Communicate with customers (where possible) regarding their outside work requirements.
• Takes whatever actions are required to deliver a great customer experience.

Qualifications
* Must be able to pass a comprehensive background check & drug screening (Priority)
* Valid state driver’s license and a good driving record (Priority)
* 21 years of age (Preferred but not mandatory)
* One year of work experience in a comparable field such as construction trade, Landscaping, Laborer, mechanics, semi-skilled manufacturing, or other related hands-on trade role
* Stable work history
* Able to work required shifts and overtime (if necessary)
* Spanish proficiency desirable in some locations
* Ability to work a flexible and non-traditional schedule; 5 & 6-day work weeks
* Ability to communicate and work well with customers and co-workers
Preferred
* Have your own Truck, Van or SUV
* One year of work experience in a comparable field such as construction trade, Landscaping, Laborer, mechanics, semi-skilled manufacturing, or other related hands-on trade role
Physical Requirements
* Ability to carry and use tools and equipment
* Ability to complete documentation, and inspect, install, and repair materials and equipment
* Requisite ability required to drive motor vehicle
* Adequate ability to distinguish different colors of wire
* Ability to communicate in person and by telephone
* Ability to bend, stoops, and crawl
* Ability to lift up to 75 pounds
* Ability to work in small places (such as crawl spaces and attics)
* Ability to tolerate temporary exposure to fumes, airborne particles, and extreme, non-weather-related heat
