Job Summary:
The Project Manager provides overall management of complex construction projects from preconstruction planning to final completion. This role requires direct support to other functional project teams in resolving issues, managing resources, project coordination, and interfacing with client representatives regarding the project's progress.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Setup: Set up projects timely, reviewing specifications including contracts and drawings to determine construction requirements and plan procedures.
- Project Performance: Manage overall project performance (scope, safety, quality, schedule, innovation, cost, and customer satisfaction), coordinating site-specific project management or coaching during the initiation and planning phases.
- Customer Expectations: Serve as single-point of contact, establishing, maintaining, and managing customer expectations regarding the project performance.
- Reporting: Report project status and performance data as required to executive management.
- Safety and Compliance: Ensure compliance with IEW's in-house Project Management and Safety Standards.
- Vendor Management: Manage onsite vendors and subcontractors to ensure their level of performance is within scope.
- Safety Training: Coordinate and oversee that all team members have been provided the proper safety training and equipment.
Requirements:
- Civil Engineering or Construction Management Degree: Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management.
- Experience: At least 7-10 years of construction project management experience.
- Industry Knowledge: Thorough understanding of construction industry practices, processes, and standards and their impact on project activities.
- Prioritization and Planning: The individual prioritizes and plans work activities and uses time efficiently.
- Quality Monitoring: Demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness and monitors own work to ensure quality.
