IFC’s Compliance Advisor Ombudsman office is seeking an intern as part of our Global Internship Program (GIP). The Global Internship Program (GIP) offers highly motivated individuals an opportunity to be exposed to the mission and work of IFC and the broader World Bank Group and become part of the largest private sector development institution in the world. The program encourages individuals to bring new perspectives and innovative ideas to IFC’s work, while improving skills in a diverse and highly stimulating environment. Moreover, the Global Internship Program provides a unique opportunity to exchange ideas and network with international professionals dedicated to ending extreme poverty and boosting prosperity in the developing world.

Duties And Accountabilities
The objective of this internship is to assist the CAO Advisory team in improving their data management processes including:
- Data Collection: (i) Assist in the design and implementation of data collection tools and methodologies; (ii) Support the team in gathering data from various sources, ensuring accuracy and completeness; (iii) Conduct data validation and cleaning to maintain data integrity.
- Data Storage: (i) Help in organizing and structuring data storage systems to ensure easy access and retrieval; (ii) Assist in the development and maintenance of databases and data repositories; (iii) Ensure data security and confidentiality in compliance with CAO policies.
- Data Analysis: (i) Support the team in analyzing data to generate insights and inform decision-making; (ii) Develop and maintain dashboards and reports to visualize data trends and patterns; (iii) Assist in the preparation of analytical reports and presentations.
- Process Improvement: (i) Identify opportunities for streamlining and harmonizing data management processes; (ii) Provide recommendations for enhancing data collection, storage, and analysis systems; (iii) Assist in the implementation of process improvements and monitor their effectiveness.
- Candidates must be currently enrolled in a Master’s degree level program
- Preferred field of study: Data Science, Information Management, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related field
- Minimum of 2 years of previous work experience
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Expertise with qualitative data analysis and methodologies.
- Proficiency in data analysis tools and software (e.g., Excel, SQL, Python, R).
- Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) is a plus.
