IFC’s Development Impact Measurement Department is seeking two interns as part of our Global Internship Program (GIP). The Global Internship Program (GIP) offers highly motivated individuals an opportunity to be exposed to the mission and work of IFC and the broader World Bank Group and become part of the largest private sector development institution in the world. The program encourages individuals to bring new perspectives and innovative ideas to IFC’s work, while improving skills in a diverse and highly stimulating environment. Moreover, the Global Internship Program provides a unique opportunity to exchange ideas and network with international professionals dedicated to ending extreme poverty and boosting prosperity in the developing world.

Duties And Accountabilities
- Undertake or support sector-focused analytical and knowledge-generation activities, encompassing data collection and management, literature review, and quantitative analysis.
- Support the implementation of the Anticipated Impact Measurement and Monitoring (AIMM) framework, which assesses the development impact of IFC projects. Responsibilities include developing and maintaining sector-specific and thematic tools and databases to facilitate ex-ante assessments of development impact and ex-post monitoring of impact outcomes.
Selection Criteria
- Candidates must be currently enrolled in a Master’s degree level program
- Preferred field of study: Finance; Economics; Masters in Business Administration (MBA); International Development
- Minimum of 2 years of previous work experience
- Experience with data/evidence collection, market research and/or market assessment work is desired
- Proven strong analytical skills, especially Excel.
- Basic understanding of issues relevant to economic development.
- Awareness of a variety of development impact assessment tools and frameworks and able to conduct basic project impact analysis.
- Ability to manipulate, document, and present economic or other data as input to broader analytical work.
- Strong data gathering, cleaning and management skills.
- An effective collaborator with strong interpersonal skills. 8. Excellent oral and written communication skills in English are essential.
