IFC’s Portfolio Department is seeking two interns as part of our Global Internship Program (GIP). The Global Internship Program (GIP) offers highly motivated individuals an opportunity to be exposed to the mission and work of IFC and the broader World Bank Group and become part of the largest private sector development institution in the world. The program encourages individuals to bring new perspectives and innovative ideas to IFC’s work, while improving skills in a diverse and highly stimulating environment. Moreover, the Global Internship Program provides a unique opportunity to exchange ideas and network with international professionals dedicated to ending extreme poverty and boosting prosperity in the developing world.
The internship is open for in-person and remote participation may be considered. If remote, please note the working hours: EST, at least 4-6 hours overlap.

Duties And Accountabilities
- Inventory Policies and Procedures
- Identify and collect all relevant policies, procedures, and product-related documentation.
- Develop and maintain a central repository for policies, procedures, and related documents.
- Analyze Dependencies and Gaps
- Review existing policies and procedures to understand their dependencies.
- Identify interdependencies between policies and how they map to product workflows.
- Highlight any gaps or inconsistencies in the existing documentation.
- Map Policies and Procedures to the Project Life Cycle
- Define key phases of the project life cycle (e.g., initiation, planning, execution, monitoring, closure).
- Map out how each policy and procedure applies to the corresponding project phase.
- Create clear visual aids (e.g., flowcharts or ADM matrices, Wiki articles) to illustrate responsibilities and dependencies.
- Simplify Product-Specific Procedures
- Write concise, product-specific procedures tailored to individual workflows or requirements.
- Ensure these simplified procedures reference the original policies for compliance and audit purposes.
- Use plain language and standard templates to make them easy to follow, this should aid the training of GenAI chatbots.
- Engage Stakeholders
- Collaborate with business units, compliance teams, and process owners to validate and refine procedures.
- Solicit feedback from users to identify opportunities to further streamline processes.
- Candidates must be currently enrolled in a Master’s degree level program
- Preferred field of study: Masters in Business Administration (MBA); Finance
- Minimum of 2 years of previous work experience
- Previous experience in research and process engineering
