Scientist II, Home Care Innovation

Job Summary

We are looking for a Scientist II to join our team in Holmdel.

Responsibilities

• Plan and execute complex technical work for go to market, proactive and analytical projects under the direction of technical leaders
• Provide key technical support to project teams and has the ability to lead small scope projects internally or externally
• Have a legacy of technical creativity, allowing them to develop technical insight and recommendations that support project decision-making, category strategy and customers propositions to highlight IFF product advantage.
  
  

Innovation and Technical Responsibility

• Development of new innovations in Home care and Air Care categories.
• Collaborate with R&D and other departments to understand performance technology and introduce new products to the global creative teams
• Design & conduct complex technical work in the area of air care and home care applications (cleaners, wipes, disinfectants, cat litter, etc.)
• Provide key technical support to project teams and lead small scope projects internally and externally
• Define critical partnerships with external suppliers to support key programs and initiatives.
• Drive IP Strategy for focused initiatives to maximize IFF competitive position.
• Able to consult management to obtain appropriate resource or expertise
• Work in partnership with other multidisciplinary departments such as R&D, Sales, Perfumery, & Marketing/CI
• Visit customers with other team members to listen to issues & give input on possible solutions
• Execute the relevant parts of the project within the given timelines
• Be aware of new trends in base formulation due to innovation, regulatory or convenience-Anticipate their impact & suggest studies to understand or alternative solutions

• Optimize team performance through excellent leadership, stretching goal setting, coaching and development.
• Identify and develop talent to elevate the technical and innovation knowledge as well as leadership competencies of the team.
• Suggest & implement ways to improve current processes or methodologies to reduce time, cost or increase performance
  
  

Communication & Teamwork

• Provide Senior management with clear updates on various initiatives.
• Liaise with various internal cross functional and cross-divisional colleagues and external collaborators.
• Foster a collaborative mindset and build a relationship of trust with other fragrance functions (Perfumers, Marketing, Consumer Insights) to enrich and accelerate the creative process.
• Demonstrate good written and communication skills.
