We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic undergraduate student to join our Corporate Legal Internship Program. This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in corporate law, working alongside our legal team based in the U.S. and Germany on various projects and gaining valuable insights into the legal and technology industries.
Position Overview:
As a Corporate Legal Intern, you will have the opportunity to assist our in-house legal team in various areas of corporate law, including contract review, compliance, intellectual property, corporate governance, and contract management support. You will be exposed to practical legal work in a fast-paced corporate environment and be a key contributor to supporting our legal department’s daily operations. This is a paid internship based out of the San Francisco Bay Area and is a hybrid work position requiring 20 hours of work per week and working from IGEL’s San Francisco office 1-2 days per week.
Key Responsibilities:
- Expand and maintain the company’s contract database, including digitizing and storing contracts in an audit-proof manner and supplementing them with relevant metadata.
- Support the department in testing and development of the contract management system
- Support the team with compliance tasks and corporate governance matters.
- Provide administrative support, including organizing and maintaining legal documents and records.
- Assist with drafting, reviewing, and revising corporate contracts and legal documents.
- Conduct legal research on issues ranging from technology law, contract law, data protection and privacy and related areas.
- Collaborate with various departments to support business needs and legal requirements.
- Participate in meetings and provide insights on legal matters under the guidance of senior attorneys.
- Stay up to date with relevant legal developments, statutes, and regulations.
Qualifications:
- Currently enrolled in an undergraduate program preferably in Law, Legal Studies, Business, or a related field. 3rd or 4th year undergraduate student preferred.
- Strong interest in corporate law and business operations.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical and research abilities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Previous experience or interest in working with artificial intelligence tools.
- Previous internship or volunteer experience in a legal or corporate setting is a plus but not required.
