What are the responsibilities and job description for the DIRECTOR, PROJECT MANAGEMENT OFFICE (PMO) position at Ignite IT?
Ignite IT is seeking an experienced and strategic Director to lead our Project Management Office (PMO). The PMO Manager is responsible for delivering project support services, training, and managing the implementation of project management processes and methodologies. This role requires a leader with a strong background in project management and the ability to influence and guide at all levels within the organization. As a critical leader, you will be part of an exceptional team and a corporate culture that nurtures mutual success for our customers, employees, and communities.
Expectations and Responsibilities
- Develop, Implement, and lead our PMO framework, employing workflow processes and raising organizational awareness.
- Coordinate the program start-up efforts internally, with our back-office team, and externally, including our clients, and teammates, and partners.
- Provide best practice training, IAW our Program Management Plan, for all managers and manage departmental policies.
- Coach and lead Project / Task Managers in activities supporting current system operations.
- Facilitate the establishment of strategic business plans and lead project activities to achieve these plans, including Task Order response requests.
- Establish and foster successful relationships with stakeholders and key resources.
- Act as an agent of change by communicating program and project management policies and procedures at all organizational levels and educating stakeholders as necessary.
- Integrate client architectural standards and PMI best practices into the program and project management methodologies.
- Implement and execute an appropriate program / project portfolio review process, including in-progress analysis and post-mortem lessons learned.
- Design and track various program and portfolio performance KPIs
- Analyze financial information to keep projects on track
- Support project management tools and software
- Ensure Control for all projects
