GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
The Planner-Buyer is responsible for managing the procurement and inventory of goods or materials needed for a company’s operations. The incumbent will be responsible for ensuring timely delivery of materials and maintaining optimal inventory levels. Additionally, the Buyer/Planner will ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, forecast demand based on market trends and sales data, and coordinate logistics to support efficient operations. In addition ensuring Igus has optimized its processes, reduces costs, and supports the company's sustainability goals.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Planner-Buyer is responsible for managing the procurement and inventory of goods or materials needed for a company’s operations. Additionally, the Buyer/Planner will ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, forecast demand based on market trends and sales data, and coordinate logistics to support efficient operations. RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Consistently monitor and replenish inventory to ensure availability of goods.
- Analyze historical data and market trends to help forecast future production needs.
- Develop plans for short-term and long-term production, considering customer demands.
- Adjust production schedules as needed to accommodate changes in customer demand or unexpected delays.
- Work with vendors to reduce inventories and increase inventory turns while not sacrificing deliveries to the customer.
- Collaborate with Product Mangers and Engineering groups to ensure product inventory levels meet the needs of the customer.
- Communicate and coordinate on project status, orders and deliveries with Product Managers to meet the companies on time delivery standards.
- Prepare purchase orders.
- Perform other quality assignments and duties as assigned.
- Assist the purchasing department on an as needed basis.
- Associates degree or equivalent combination of education and experience in relevant Purchasing/Planning field
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and production scheduling.
- Experience with Manufacturing Resource Planning (MRP) or Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems.
- Ability to analyze production data and forecast future demand.
- Ability to read mechanical drawings required
- Previous experience in material management of industrial products preferred
- Knowledge of Production scheduling software preferred
- Excellent interpersonal relations and strong communication, organizational and time management skills required
- High sense of urgency with ability to work in a fast-paced team environment anticipating and adjusting to challenges
- Proficient at Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel and Outlook
