This role is located at our beautiful headquarters on River Drive in Moline, IL. This facility includes a comfortable office environment with an on-site gym facility.
Summary of Position:
The Commercial Credit Analyst is responsible for ensuring compliance with laws, policies and regulations set forth by government, state or the credit union itself. The Analyst provides primary credit underwriting and monitoring support for the commercial loan portfolio. Other responsibilities include providing overall support for risk and credit management and assisting the lenders with ongoing credit underwriting and monitoring. This position is responsible for establishing and maintaining support systems, procedures, and processes for new and renewal of business loan underwriting and ongoing monitoring of business loan credit risk. It provides independent review and financial analysis on commercial loans.
The successful candidate should have following skills/qualifications:
- Four-year college degree preferred, preferably majored in Finance and/or Accounting
- Acute accuracy and very detailed oriented skills are essential
- Solid written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work as an important team member in a team environment
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepares comprehensive Loan Presentation Summaries and Annual Reviews in support of underwriting. This includes the presentation of the loan request, risks & mitigants, loan approval rationale, borrower exposure & existing relationship, industry & market analysis, risk rating assessments, financial statement analysis and credit investigations.
- Utilizes available software and spreadsheets to analyze applicant financial status, credit standing and capabilities (including a global cash flow analysis), operating cash flow/NOI analysis, repayment sources, industry comparable ratios/data, and collateral evaluations to prepare a complete and accurate loan presentation.
- Prioritizes loan presentation preparation work through the work in progress log, reviewing the list for new requests, loan renewals, and annual reviews.
- Establishes and maintains a system and process for requesting and tracking financial statements and other required financial related underwriting documents, income tax returns, personal financial statements, site visits, etc.
- Assists in the monitoring and disbursing of construction loan draw requests by following established loan policies and procedures.
- Performs internal appraisal reviews for all appraisals obtained per established loan policies and procedures.
- Assist with the development and monitoring of industry portfolio risk by instituting SIC/NAICS coding on all commercial loans.
- Provides backup support for collecting, organizing, preparing, and distributing all agendas and loan presentations/Watch Loan action plans/summary reports for the weekly loan committee meeting and the monthly Loan Watch Committee meetings. Also providing back up support for maintaining the official records of those meetings by completing meeting minutes and maintaining official records.
- Assists with the drafting and updating of Standard Operating Procedures as assigned by management.
