Job Summary
Armstrong Power LLC, located in Shelocta, PA, is looking for an intelligent and motivated person who can effectively communicate to join our team as a summer intern in 2023. Our dynamic ten-person team is highly skilled in our field and enjoys teaching others what we are passionate about. If you are selected for the internship you will learn about an industry that is essential to everyday life, focal areas will include industrial processes, control systems, thermodynamics, process improvement, business acumen, and much more.
While we are only ten people at this location, IHI Power Services has over 500 employees nationwide and is growing rapidly. Job Functions
- Complete web-based safety, environmental, compliance, and operational training.
- Gain exposure to the broad range of power generation career paths by shadowing various craft and management level personnel.
- Learn the basic function and safe use of tools used in power generation.
- Document your experience and present a summary of your time at Armstrong Power to Management.
Preferred but not required:
- Currently enrolled in a 2-4 year program
- At least a 2.5 cumulative GPA
All candidates should possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities:
- Interest in learning about what it is like to work in a power plant environment.
- Commitment to following all safety protocols, time and attendance policies and following directions.
- Ability to grasp new concepts.
- Willingness to learn from others and work in a team environment.
