What are the responsibilities and job description for the Colorist position at IHL Group?
Summary: IHL is looking for a Colorist to join our Sleepwear team! The Colorist will be responsible for color & product integrity along with supporting the cross-functional teams in evaluating submits to ensure color and quality standards are met.

Responsibilities:
- Comment on lab dips, knit downs, strike offs, bulk fabrics, bulk trims, submits, etc.
- Depending on the account, will need to enter information and create submits forms in PLM systems.
- Be able to utilize a light booth for proper color evaluation.
- In collaboration with team, review color submissions & advise corrections or approvals for submits prior to production.
- Provide direction to mills in fabric quality issues during the production process.
- Communicate color comments (both rejections & approvals) to appropriate business partners (suppliers/ factories).
- File all submits & records daily.
- Review all Pre-Production and Top of Production samples to ensure color & product matches approved bulk colors & prints.
Job Requirements & Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in textiles, fashion, or related field.
- 3 years of experience in color production experience.
- Superior color vision.
- Must follow the production calendar closely to ensure all submits, comments, & approvals are on time in order to keep production on schedule.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- High level of organizational skills.
- Must be detail oriented, be able to follow instructions and work in a team environment.
- Ability to work well in a cross functional environment.
- Knowledgeable in intimate apparel construction.
Additional Qualifications:
- Ability to operate spectrophotometer & working knowledge of spectrophotometers and color quality control.
Job Logistics
Location: New York, NY – Midtown West
Compensation: The anticipated base salary range for this position is $65,000-$90,000.
