Catering Director

This executive level exempt position performs a wide variety of duties including overseeing the catering division of our fast casual restaurant operations. This role involves sales, strategic planning, leadership, and operations management to drive the growth and success of our catering services. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in sales, catering, exceptional organizational skills, and a passion for elevating the customer experience. 

This is an in-office, full-time position, reporting to our corporate office in Long Beach, CA. There is the option to work remotely during business hours on Fridays. 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Catering Sales 
• Develop comprehensive sales plans to grow the catering business including partnerships, pricing strategies, outreach, and marketing initiatives
• Regular analysis of financial performance of the company to identify areas for improvement and opportunities for optimizing cost, as well as identifying market trends for catering expansion in the quick service restaurant industry. 

• Operational Management 
• Oversee daily catering operations to ensure high-quality product, service, and timely delivery with third party vendors 
• Fluent in CRM management and maintaining all programs associated with the software 

• Customer Service
• Build and maintain strong relationships with catering clients 
• Manage inquiries, complaints, and special requests 

• Financial Management  
• Manage the catering budget including cost controls and revenue forecasting
• Analyze financial performance of the catering department to meet and exceed financial targets 

• Compliance and Quality Controls 
• Ensure compliance with health regulations
• Ensure compliance with company standards, policies, and procedures 
• Maintain high standards of food quality, presentation, and service 



• Leadership and Development 
• Lead and develop a growing team of catering professionals both in office and on the field level

EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

• Minimum 5 years experience in sales, with an emphasis in Catering Sales in the restaurant industry 
• Bachelor’s Degree in a related field such as Hospitality or Business Administration (preferred)
• Proven experience in sales and catering leadership for a multi unit restaurant or retail concept is a must. 
• Excellent verbal, written, and visual communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across multiple departments.
• Demonstrated leadership capabilities with a track record of effectively managing teams, both internal and external, to drive results.  
• Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a fast paced environment 
• Analytical, problem solving, and organizational skills. 
• Experience in growing and scaling a catering and sales program

This is an executive position with internal and external direct reports. The Catering Director will report directly to the CMO.

LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS

Introductory Period: Incumbents appointed to this job classification will serve an introductory period of three months. The entirety of the employment relationship, including the Introductory Period, is “at-will” meaning that either Ike’s Love and Sandwiches, Inc. or the employee may end the relationship with or without reason or notice, not prohibited by law.

The salary range for this position is $105,000 - $120,000 per year. Commission Plan will be negotiated at time of hire.
