Restaurant Service Manager
Established, independent Chattanooga restaurant is seeking an experienced leader for the Service Manager position. The ideal candidate will have experience managing staff, hiring and training new staff, establishing guidelines and directives to constantly improve service and interacting with guests to create excellent guest experiences.
To qualify for this position:
- Must have experience working in a high-level, full-service restaurant/bar. Management experience not required but preferred.
- Willingness to work 40 hours per week
- Willingness to work evenings and weekends (no Sundays)
- Ability to lift 20 pounds when necessary
Developing and Implementing Beverage Program
Summary of Responsibilities:
· Ordering
· Invoice Entry
· Inventory Management
· Monthly Inventory
· Cost/Pricing
· Updating Print Menus
· Cocktail Creation/Batching?
· Specials – working with distributors.
The restaurant seeks to employ a beverage program that is inventive but not confusing, educational without becoming aloof, effective in its control of inventory and pricing, and highly profitable.
The Service and Beverage Director will work diligently to continually develop and improve the beverage program at the restaurant. They will maintain a beverage program that is consistent with the restaurant’s product objectives and inventory/budget guidelines. All inventory will be maintained in the restaurant’s inventory system and inventory counts will be carefully checked to ensure accuracy. They will handle weekly ordering of all wine, spirits, beer and non-alcoholic beverages. They will also coordinate with distributors to procure preferred product and pricing. As necessary and at regular intervals, They will conduct staff tasting and training sessions to maintain effective service of all items.
The Service and Beverage Director will interact with guests on a nightly basis to promote beverage sales. They will serve as the restaurant’s “expert” on all wine and spirits, and They will seek opportunities to interact with guest as a confidant and/or salesperson. As part of this, they should pursue opportunities to serve guests wine, provide insight and gather feedback.
