We are seeking a detail-oriented and innovative Chemist to join our dynamic Research & Development team. In this role, you will play a key part in formulating, researching, and developing new dietary supplement products that align with scientific standards, market trends, and regulatory compliance. You will combine your expertise in nutrition science and chemistry to create efficacious, safe, and consumer-friendly formulations.
Responsibilties
Formulation & Development:
- Develop and optimize dietary supplement formulations in various delivery formats (capsules, powders, gummies, liquids, etc.).
- Select and evaluate raw materials based on efficacy, bioavailability, and stability.
- Conduct in-depth literature reviews to support formulation rationale.
- Analyze nutritional trends and emerging ingredients to identify new product opportunities.
- Collaborate with Quality Assurance and Quality Control teams to ensure product specifications and testing protocols are met.
- Perform or oversee analytical tests for purity, potency, and stability.
- Work closely with Marketing, Regulatory, and Manufacturing teams to bring products from concept to commercialization.
- Prepare technical documents, formulation guides, and scientific justifications for product claims.
- Ensure compliance with FDA, cGMP, and other relevant regulations.
- Maintain accurate records, including formulation worksheets, lab notebooks, and technical documentation.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Nutrition, Chemistry, Food Science, or a related field. Advanced degree or RD credential a plus.
- 2-5 years of experience in R&D for dietary supplements, nutraceuticals, or functional foods.
- Strong understanding of nutritional biochemistry, ingredient interactions, and supplement regulatory requirements.
- Hands-on experience with formulation software, lab equipment, and ingredient databases.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Familiarity with GRAS, NSF, USP, or other relevant standards is preferred.
