Position Objective :
Evaluate market themes, develop pursuit pipeline, engage current / potential customers, achieve internal alignment, and execute winning new business proposals to maximize business growth in the Aerospace & Defense market.
Essential Responsibilities :
- Serve as ILC Dover Aerospace & Defense Solutions (ADS) business development leader and member of cross-functional senior leadership team (SLT).
- Evaluate the traditional and emerging commercial A&D market to develop and implement strategies to maximize growth.
- Interface with current / potential customers to understand their overall funding, objectives, and requirements; create strong relationships with key decision makers.
- Engage with customers to understand ADS technology roadmap applicability to customer current / future needs, collaborating effectively with SLT to align NPI to customer direction.
- Develop pursuit pipeline that aligns with A&D market outlook, customer needs, and internal growth targets.
- Collaborate with SLT in the creation of Strategic Plans for responsible markets and achieve alignment on new business opportunities.
- Evaluate new business opportunities, develop recommended proposal approach and response, develop bid review package, achieve internal alignment, develop customer proposal response, deliver proposal details to customer, and close on negotiations with customer (with SLT support).
- Develop price to win analysis to ensure ADS proposal response that delivers a winning proposal that aligns with internal business needs.
- Conduct pre-contract liaison with customers and participate in negotiations including commercial and contract terms.
- Accountable for driving the ADS Business Development activities.
Minimum Requirements :
Education :
Bachelor’s degree in business or technical field and fifteen (15) years’ experience in related field; or the equivalent of education and experience.
Experience :
Experience in A&D environment.
Experience with business development and / or marketing.
Established relationships with NASA and commercial space industry highly desired.
Skills / Competencies :
Must be able to travel domestically and internationally.
Strong technical and financial acumen.
Existing A&D customer relationships is highly desired.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Excellent presentation skills.
Strong collaboration skills in a cross-functional team.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
