The Illinois Department of Innovation and Technology (DoIT) is seeking a Deputy Chief Information Officer to lead our team supporting the Illinois Department of Human Services (IDHS). The DoIT Team at IDHS is leading a transformation to modernize the way citizens interact with the State of Illinois agency responsible for providing a wide variety of services to Illinois residents. The Deputy Chief Information Officer is responsible for managing technical staff across operational areas of Information Security & Audit Compliance, Financial & Support Services, Customer Service & Training, Technical Management, and Program Management.
Essential Functions
- Subject to management approval, serves as the Deputy Chief Information Officer for the Department of Innovation and Technology-Department of Human Services (DoIT-DHS) establishing, interpreting, and implementing policies, procedures and goals for the total management process of the DHS Chief Information Office which has statewide impact.
- Oversees, directs, and coordinates professional staff responsible for operational areas of Information Security & Audit Compliance, Financial & Support Services, Customer Service & Training, Technical Management, and Program Management.
- Oversees and / or establishes and implements processes, controls, and standards to ensure compliance with DHS schedules and priorities.
- Serves as full line supervisor.
- Serves as spokesperson for the CIO, Group CIO and DoIT Secretary and commits the office to specific courses of action.
- Coordinates audit responses to the Office of the Auditor General and Federal Auditors.
- Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of duties enumerated above.
