Office Assistant / Bookkeeper - Part-time
Hours
- 15-20 hours per week.
- 4 to 5 8-hour days per week from January 10th - March 1st
We are looking for a competent, office assistant / bookkeeper to make monthly computer accounting entries for clients, as well as, perform payroll calculations and reporting and help with the organization and performance of administrative tasks.
Job Summary: Perform bookkeeper and office assistant duties to help with the organization and performance of administrative tasks, as well as make monthly computer accounting entries for clients using QuickBooks.
The ideal candidate will be a hard-working professional able to undertake a variety of office support tasks and work diligently under pressure. This person will be comfortable working with a high degree of attention to detail and discretion as well as incorporating new and effective ways to achieve better results.
Essential Duties
- Provides accounting and clerical assistance to other staff as needed.
- Managing information flow and monitoring the day-to-day business duties to ensure smooth running of the Office.
- Take messages including appointment cancellations and reschedules
- Assists in managing field staff calendars.
- Monitor level of supplies and handle shortages
- Make computer entries of financial information
- Maintain trusting relationships with clients
- Maintain and update databases such as mailing lists, contact lists, etc.
- Retrieve, sort and distribute incoming mail
- Prepare outgoing mail
- Perform receptionist duties
- Perform Check Accounting
- Assist in W-2/ 1099 Processing
- Assist other staff as needed with their questions.
Experience / Education:
- Experience in bookkeeping - 1 year (Preferred)
- Working knowledge of office equipment
- Thorough understanding of office management procedures
- Excellent organization and time management skills
- Proficiency in MS Office
- Computer aptitude
