Position Overview

The Division of Rehabilitation Services (DRS) is the state’s lead division serving people with disabilities committed to diversity, equity, inclusion, accessibility and racial justice. The mission of the Division is to assist individuals with disabilities in achieving their goals of employment, education, and independent living. This position directs accounting functions in the Division of Rehabilitation Services/Bureau of Support Services reviewing, tracking, and analyzing expenditures and ensuring timely and accurate payment of vouchers. The Division is seeking to hire a self-motivated and detailed orientated individual with good communication skills.

Essential Functions

  • Monitors the on-going and projected expenditures for the Division of Rehabilitation Services (DRS) programs.
  • Directs accounting functions of financial review, editing of vouchers, error detection and resolution.
  • Serves as working supervisor.
  • Manages the oversight, review and tracking of contractual spending plan and intermittent vouchers related to payroll for reasonable accommodation, direct services, and other administrative support into the dedicated state system.
  • Provides input on issues and problems as well as system enhancements.
  • Performs other duties as assigned or required which are reasonably within the scope of the duties as enumerated above.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to completion of four (4) years college, with courses in business administration and accounting.
  • Requires two (2 years of professional experience in accounting, external auditing, budgetary planning and control or public accounting.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Two (2) years of professional experience supervising staff and general accounting and budgetary activities in a public or private organization.
  • Two (2) years of professional experience analyzing data and making recommendations to determine a specific course of action while maintaining compliance with state and federal requirements.
  • Two (2) years of professional experience preparing complex fiscal reports, charts and spreadsheets in various accessible formats using Microsoft Word, Excel and Presentations.
  • One (1) year of professional experience analyzing issues and adopting an effective course of action.
  • One (1) year of professional experience communicating clearly and tactfully orally and in writing with a wide range of individuals that include employees, supervisors, division managers and agency staff.
  • One (1) year of experience meeting deadlines with strong attention to detail while multitasking.
