Job Summary
The Direct Support Professional (DSP) plays a crucial role in providing compassionate care and support to individuals with disabilities or special needs. Responsibilities
- Assist clients with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, meal preparation, and medication management.
- Provide support for individuals with disabilities and other cognitive impairments, ensuring their comfort and safety.
- Observe and document patient behavior and progress, reporting any changes to the appropriate healthcare professionals.
- Engage clients in social activities that enhance their quality of life and encourage social interaction.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for clients by adhering to hygiene standards and safety protocols.
- Collaborate with families, social workers, and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care for clients.
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development to enhance skills related to autism support, first aid, and patient observation.
Requirements
- High School Graduate
DSP certified
CNA
- Knowledge of disabilitiescare practices is advantageous.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build rapport with clients.
- Ability to work as part of a team while also being self-motivated.
- Basic cooking skills to prepare nutritious meals for clients.
- Understanding of resident rights and commitment to advocating for client dignity and respect.
- Certification in first aid or willingness to obtain certification upon hire is desirable.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $18.00 - $19.50 per hour
Expected hours: 32 – 40 per week

- 12 hour shift

- Monday to Friday

- Rotating weekends
